The Beach rebooted for Gen Z! Newbold's latest thriller, When the Darkness Swallowed the Sun, will be released later this year by indie publisher Spectrum Books. It sees a return to Thailand where junior journalist Dan Young is assigned to report on the brutal double murder of two English backpackers on an idyllic island. But Dan's descent into the shadows to find the truth sees paradise turn into his worst nightmare.
